OUR MISSION

More Than Braiding. A Pathway to Opportunity.

Our Hands-On Braiding Program introduces students to the art of braiding while building confidence, creativity, and cultural appreciation.

Designed for schools, after-school programs, summer initiatives, and internships, students develop practical braiding skills while gaining exposure to entrepreneurship and financial literacy.

Our goal is to empower young people to transform their creativity into confidence, opportunity, and future success.

The braiding program has tremendously improved our students’ confidence, skills, and attendance. Through hands-on training, they’re learning professionalism while building meaningful relationships with students they may not have otherwise connected with. The program has also given them a deeper understanding of the history, symbolism, and art of hair braiding.”

Students are developing expertise in a specific area of the beauty industry by receiving hands on training while learning professionalism, ethics and how to conduct themselves in a professional environment. Students' are developing socialization skills with other students that they may have not previously known or interacted with. The braiding program has provided my students with an understanding of the history, symbolism, and different styles associated with hair braiding. Students confidence and skills have tremendously improved due to the braiding program.
